Electric Artefacts Celebrates Its 1-Year Anniversary

It’s been one heck of a time to start a digital art space - NFTs, web3, generative art… we cannot wait to see what awaits us next. But for now, here’s the highlights of our past year…

September 2020

24th of September 2020: We kick off our existence with a dynamite inaugural show curated with help from Lumen Prize and featuring: Ultrabianka, Mario Klingemann, Stepan Ryabchenko, Moises Sanabria, Jake Elwes, Angela Eames, Grayson Cooke, Fabiola Larios, Julia Kobel, Sophie Rogers, Camila Roriz (Cibymili), Rachel Noble, Snow Yunxue Fu, Michael Pantuso, Max Colson, Marick Roy, Irene P Tello and Matthias Dörfelt.

October 2020

Come October, we hosted our very first panel discussion on Internet Rituals with Fabiola Larios and Caroline Sinders, presented by Filippo Lorenzin.

December 2020

December already and we opened our exhibition Vacation at the End of the World with the amazing Off Site Project, featuring Keiken x Ryan Vautier, Georgia Tucker, Alice Bucknell, Eda Sarman, Kumbirai Makumbe, Xia Han, Léa Porré, Juan Covelli and Wednesday Kim.

And also introduced our ongoing curatorial theme of Technoromanticism.

January 2021

To kick off the new year, we *honestly* predicted the collectible rage…

February 2021

But another month, another exhibition -  as we opened Uno, Nessuno, Centomila with Umanesimo Artificiale focussing on artificial intelligence and art ahead of the generative boom! The show featured: Moisés Horta Valenzuela, Pat Pataranutaporn, Chrystal Ding, Mike Tyka, Chris Kore, Lorem, Giovanni Muzio and Isabella Salas × Nora Golic

March 2021

In March we helped Mike Tyka mint his NFT debut on Hic et Nunc, selling out editions of ‘Portraits of Imaginary People’ in mere hours.

And then we had another genius of the internet visit us, launching the solo exhibition of Sven Eberwein Abstract Noise!

Come June, as the sun started to bean upon us, so shone our very first Tweeterviews! Welcoming Fabiola Larios as our first, followed by many others over the summer… We loved speaking to each and every one of you Ivona Tau, Mikko Lyytinen, Beatrice Von Millhouse and Claudio Dalla Bernardina.

August 2021

And this brings us to just last month… when we started an exciting new chapter launching the Digital Art Observatory Residence with V-Art, and welcomed our lovely artists Julia Beliaeva, Zsuzsanna Ardó, Julia Shutkevych, Isabel Bonafe, Nikita Khudiakov, Douglas Park, Oliver Jenkins, Krisztina Kapeljuh, Pavlo Bestuzhev, Robert Richardson, James Johnson-Perkins and Roksolana Dudka.

We cannot wait to see what the future holds next for digital art, and Electric Artefacts!
