Isabella Salas × Nora Golic

Isabella Salas: Isabella is a neural artist and producer based in Canada. Her work is inspired by the intricate relationship between nature, technology and art in direct impact on society, identity, environment and life balance. Nora Golic: Museologist, a multidisciplinary artist and social worker, Nora Golic is from Rosario, Argentina. She lives in Montreal, Canada, since 2003. She identifies herself as part of the artistic and cultural diversity (including all the minorities such language, age, religion, ethnicity, disability, etc).

Isabella was born and raised in Mexico City, Isabella moved to Montreal, Canada in 2001 to follow her major  in Film Production at Concordia University, specializing in ways of seeing and experimental filmmaking at the EICTV in Cuba. Her interdisciplinary artworks use artificial intelligence, digital  video, synthesized sound, projection as medium to create multi-sensorial digital experiences based on neuroaesthetics and biotechnological  design. Her work has been presented in Canada at the Society of Arts and Technology in Montreal, MAPP MTL, Music Motion Lab, MUTEK AI Lab, Polaris Music Awards 2020, Never Apart Gallery. Internationally she has been part of Immersed Festival (UK), Gamma Festival  (RU), TransArt Festival (IT), Voltaje Festival (COL) and MUTEK Hybrid Festival 2020.

Nora’s background in social work allowed her to develop alternative communication and interpersonal strategies throughout the years. She uses active listening, observation, and interpretation to unveil the unspoken and hidden emotions. As an artist, she naturally chose the portrait as a channel of expressionIn each one of her creations, Nora validates the mission to provoke and encourage a creative exchange in an embodied, rather than spoken, accessible way. The simplicity and minimalist materials give the visitors an opportunity to interact and create a relationship with the artwork. Her work has been displayed in collective and solo exhibits presented in Canada, United States and Argentina.
